Family Christmas Traditions

High quality Christmas products for you to profit from!

As any parent can attest, bedtime stories are an excellent way to get little ones excited about going to bed. What better way to celebrate the holidays than by swapping the standard Mother Goose for the holiday-friendly Father Christmas?

As a child, my siblings and I would gather in bed on Christmas Eve, and our mother would read the passage from Luke, chapter 5, about the birth of Jesus.

Although by age five I could quote the entire passage from memory, there was something special about the warmth of being cuddled up next to my older sisters. We shared the anticipation of the big day and took comfort in knowing that every year, no matter where we were, at nine o’clock on Christmas Eve, we would be together, listening to our mother’s familiar voice reading that ancient text.

This tradition made such a lasting impression on me that I have now begun to carry it forward with my own family.

So, what storybooks do I recommend? The first and probably the most obvious is “’Twas the Night Before Christmas”. We’ve all heard this rhyme countless times, but its repetition and familiarity make it perfect for a holiday tradition.
